simple ple4sures: thanksgiving gatherings

Thanksgiving seems like a perfect way to end this series. I don't want to be cliche and all that, but a simple pleasure that I will always be grateful for, is my family members.

This year for thanksgiving, I was able to gather with my cousins and extended family. I got to meet the German Shepherd, Kuma, a new addition to the extended family. It was nice to reunite with a lot of my cousins, including one who returned from college. Eating all the delicious food, spending time with Kuma, Bailey, Hailey, and my beloved (definitely not annoying) cousins, are moments that I will always reflect on and be thankful for.

I partially started the series simple pleasures from a random thought that crossed my mind while showering. I was thinking about how lucky and thankful I am for being able to take hot showers and have conditioner. Because of this, it made me think about all the little things that I often take for granted, and I wanted to make these small glimpses of happiness more notable. This series has helped me stay grounded and caused a lot of reflection on how blessed I really am.

I figured because this series is about remembering the simple pleasures that we are given, and being thankful for these amazing small things in life, it would only make sense to conclude it at thanksgiving week.

Besides the obvious of thanksgiving, a lot of these blog posts have taught me that appreciating the moment--whether it be hot showers or a funny snort my dog made--is one of the joys that come with being thankful.

instead of concluding the blog with the normal health/biology fact, I'll pitch in a verse that condenses all my thoughts to one:

"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
