DECEMBER CHEER

What is December Cheer?
To me, December is important to me because of Christmas. Christmas is more than the festive lights, trees, decoration, the smell of chocolate chip cookies, the gifts, or the music. While all of those are just as fun, Christmas is the celebration for Jesus Christ the savior of my sins and the world. Sometimes it gets easy to forget this true meaning in Christmas, but I think that the remembering why I celebrate Christmas is crucial.
I feel stressed and caught up in the flurry of the holidays: gift shopping, white elephant games, or making plans to celebrate. However, worrying
about this isn't as important than simply spending time with the family and celebrating Jesus's birth.
Christmas reminds me of God's love for us, and how much he cared for us that he sent his only son. By remembering the love of God, Jesus, my family, my friends, and even my dog, it motivates me to be thankful but also to do my best in whatever I do. Even when times sometimes gets tough for me, recalling these truths is like an energizer.
It is so incredible how when Jesus was born, wise men and the world rejoiced and knew. Even if they didn't know what Jesus was sent to do, they were still in awe. Now that I know what Jesus has done for me, it opened my eyes to just how amazing God's grace is, and how vast his plan is.
"She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
-Matthew 1:21
In addition to remembering what the holidays mean to you, I will like to share my aunt's infamous chocolate chip cookie recipe because it is just to good for people to not know, just like how spreading the gospel and my excitement for Jesus's birth is too remarkable to not mention:

Health Fact (BAKING THERAPY):
“There’s a lot of literature for connection between creative expression and overall wellbeing. Whether it’s painting or it’s making music [or baking], there is a stress relief that people get from having some kind of an outlet and a way to express themselves.”
