Be Yourself

Just be yourself, they’ll tell you,

But seldom do they mean it.

They mean to be yourself

Within a box--

Yourself,

But less of this

And more of that,

Tack this on here

And erase that there.

Be yourself

-please we implore you-

So long as yourself

Fits our vision of you,

But not yours.
